How Finland became a Hockey Superpower
More or less by focusing on skills for young players. Whats remarkable about the latest Finish World Cup win is that their best 3 players could not play because they are already in the NHL.
A common trait of great hockey players is thinking the game well. This has two aspects. First one that can to some extent be learned. Reading the ice like a billiard table. The second is slowing the game down in your mind. Which also can be learned a little bit. Could it be that Finland's exception education system is the true Finnish secret to success?
If you want a great society make great children.
