I have been to Venezuela twice. The first time in 1985. It was my first trip outside North America. I loved that place and its loved us back.
My second time was in the 90's. Things had changed, many people with sub machine guns wandering around defending barb wire.
No it seems the country has collapsed. The right says its all socialism, I say likely corruption on the left and poison on the right. Plague on both houses.
I am just sad.
I was also to Brazil and Argentina. Wonderful places, abysmal leaders and followers.
There is a great collapse. Japan, Spain, Italy or maybe a country near you could be next. then what. We need new answers. Given human nature they are going to be hard ones. Pity
