The conservatives tried to enact a very bad law. No civil society allows the police, spy’s and sure not the commercial ministry to invade a citizens privacy without Judicial oversight. This only happens in a police state. Why would the conservatives even contemplate such action? It’s not a complex issue, the government lies about its true effect, and hides behind child pornography, this has nothing to do with child porn, the police already know about and have identified more users than they can arrest. If this is not stopped our children will be living in a country best described as a merger of Orwell and Kafka.
