D Day was the big one

June 6 1944, was a big day in history, I say the biggest so far. Sure the Germans may have fell to A bombs like the Japanese, but America mounted a impossible assault with convential forces. Even though the Germans had lost air superiority, it was still a heck of a gamble, a logistic nightmare and a project with a risk factor so high, no one would have considered it if there was any other option.

It did the job, the commander Eisenhower became president. There he failed massively leaving us with the industrial military complex and so many other things he could have nipped in the bud. A cautionary tale, but for today, lets celebrate and remember the men who did impossible jobs, in impossible places and more or less made a world we now live in, it could have been so much worse.
